Women's safety is arguably the most critical issue facing the world today, as the situation seems increasingly out of control.

Rapes are increasing

Recently, many such cases have happened in India and no media outlet has covered them yet. If we try to Google the number of rape cases in India, there is a significant rise. Cases of rape and murder have been increasing at a very rapid rate, which shows how inefficient the people in the government are and how those in power are failing in their duty. It’s my personal observation that even in the last few weeks there have been more than 7–8, or possibly many unreported, cases in my district, Agra. These even include the rape of a 5-year-old girl in a temple, which is a shame and clearly shows how our system fails to protect the children and women of our society.

I am worried about the future of this nation because it has never been like this. I know people are being tortured in many countries, but there must be protection for girls in every single nation. By ensuring women’s safety, we clearly send the message of how safe the country is for women as well as for tourists. This directly boosts the image of a nation as well as its economy, yet we are totally ignoring that.

This is clearly past data that shows how bad the situation already was—and today it’s even worse. No one is really talking about these issues, and few people are truly aware of the current condition of rape rates. We are living in a dark era.

Take, for example, the recent Manisha case in Haryana and the many cases that followed. There are also countless missing-person cases, such as that of Harshita Soni, who has been missing from Hisar, Haryana since September 29, 2024—almost a year.

Harshita’s family is still waiting for justice and desperately trying to find her. They continue to post videos on the internet asking for help, yet no real action has been taken. This shows how badly our country’s system is failing.

Even if your own sister or daughter goes missing, there is no guarantee that anyone will help you. This is a dire situation, and we all need to raise our voices. We are too busy scrolling through the internet, which will change nothing on its own. We must take real steps to make things right in our nation—because in one way or another, this failure to protect our daughters and sisters is hurting us all.

We need to wake up it's the wake Up call for the nation and for all.
